Thiruvananthapuram's airport ranks international fifth
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Thiruvananthapuram international airport has been ranked fifth in an international ranking of airports with regard to quality of services to passengers.
Airports Council International, a global body of international airports, had done the ranking based on an Airport Service Quality survey. Thiruvananthapuram airport got the ranking in the category of airports handling two to five million passengers per annum.
Jaipur airport bagged the first place in the category, Lucknow second and Goa fourth. During the July-September quarter in 2015 and in 2014, Thiruvananthaapuram airport had got the first place in the ranking of Indian airports.
Airport director Mr. George Tharakan said that persistent efforts to improve the services and passenger facilities have helped the city airport retain a high ranking. The survey has been conducted by surveying passengers on the basis of a questionnaire containing 34 questions.
