Manginapudi beach to be developed as tourist spot in AP

At least 20 acres of seafront area of the beach would be leveled under the NREGS scheme.

Machilipatnam: In its bid to boost tourism in the state, Andhra Pradesh minister for excise Kollu Ravindra said Manginapudi beach in Krishna district will be developed as a tourism spot while beach festival will also be organised on the lines of popular Kakinada beach fest.

The minister visited Manginapudi beach here last evening and later told reporters that the existing entrance gate of the beach will be redeveloped with a new design while at least 20 acres of seafront area would be leveled under the NREGS scheme.

He also instructed officials to take the works in this regard forward.

Ravindra said state government had already sanctioned Rs 2 crore to Tourism department for the development of the Maginapudi beach.

"A total of Rs 1.50 crore will be spent for beautification of the beach and developing a park at the beach site apart from laying an approach road," he said.
