People ready to shut doors at BJP'

Talking to reporters in New Delhi, Mr Naidu said, Amit Shah should know how to give and take respect.

Vijayawada: Chief Minister and TD supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu has reacted sharply to BJP national president, Amit Shah’s comments.

Talking to reporters in New Delhi, Mr Naidu said, “Amit Shah should know how to give and take respect. Everyone knows who came to whom in 2014 for the alliance. It’s not that they will close their doors to me, people are ready to close their doors to BJP.” Mr Naidu said that he was not afraid of Mr Shah’s threats. “Where was he before 2014? They can’t bear it if I open my mouth and talk facts and spill the beans. Instead of talking what the BJP-led Centre had done for the state, Amit Shah is indulging in politics. This is the peak of high-handed behaviour.”

He accused the BJP of making false propaganda and “doing miserable politics”. “If the Centre had released all the funds, Andhra Pradesh would have achieved more and progressed better than what it is now,” he said.

He also said that YSRC chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy was trying to create a rift among various castes. He said during his 40 year-stint in politics he had never indulged in caste-based politics but taken everyone along. Mr Naidu claimed that he had always been in the forefront of doing social justice. He also said that due to the good work of the state government, the Centre had given more than 600 awards.

Earlier he along with leaders of other opposition parties met the chief election commissioner urging him to replace EVMs with paper ballots.

Later he participated in a meeting held at NCP chief Sharad Pawar’s residence where he said the opposition parties would chalk out an action plan to stand in solidarity with West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee.
