Hyderabad: Numaish once again gains momentum
Hyderabad: Exhibitors at the Numaish, Nampally, who were worried about the fall in the number of visitors after last Wednesday’s fire, had reason to feel relieved on Monday with the attendance reaching near normal levels.
According to the Exhibition Society, the number of visitors is gradually increasing from Saturday when the Numaish reopened.
On Monday about 20,000 tickets had been sold out by 6,30 pm, which is satisfactory.
Up to 40,000 people come to the exhibition on weekdays and the turnout reaches to 50,000 on weekends, said a Society member Shahid Mutawakkil, who has a stall, said the fire had not only gutted the goods of traders but had affected the business of others as well.
“We are now satisfied that the situation is returning to normal,” the society memeber said.
Elsewhere, a mock fire safety drill was performed under the supervision of district assistant fire officer, Salar Jung Museum, Tangella Srinivas.
Officials of the Disaster Response and Fire Services trained volunteers and demonstrated rescue measures.
