Chittoor district vision plan 2019-24 released

District collector Mr Pradyumna informed that the district has already achieved historic success in many sectors.

Tirupati: Minister for industries N. Amarnath Reddy, on Monday, released Chittoor District Vision Plan 2019-2024, at a programme held at the collectorate of Chittoor district.

The minister, along with sistrict collector P. S. Pradyumna and other public representatives, brought an 88-page book, in which the district administration has elaborated the growth achievements in the district.

The publication is mainly focused on growth engines of 3 sectors namely Agriculture & Allied, Industrial & Service Sector rapid growth in development of the district.

Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Amarnath Reddy said that the district administration has identified its pressing focus areas for the near future and has put in place interventions with immediate effect in order to make Chittoor the most preferred destination for living and earning.

“The district vision action plan lays a clear road map for achieving the aim of making Chittoor national investment destination with vastly improved standards of living, enhanced tourist appeal, equitable job opportunities and unanimous business growth with support the domestic investors.

District collector Mr Pradyumna informed that the district has already achieved historic success in many sectors.

“This year, the district saw the arrival of Krishna river water to Chittoor travelling over 550 km, which is a phenomenal achievement of bringing water to a dry district like Chittoor. Even before the water had come, the district had created a record by being the 2nd largest Gross Value Added (GVA) contributor in agriculture and horticulture sector followed by Anantapur district,” he maintained.

Quoting a few other examples, the collector said that in this financial year alone, cement roads were constructed in a stretch of 950 km and have given bank linkage to SHGs worth more than Rs 1,500 crore, whereas plans are afoot to touch the mark of Rs 2,000 crore by March, 2019. Many other facilities will be improved in the future, he added.
