Bengaluru: Chaotic scenes were witnessed around Palace Grounds where Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the valedictory of BJP’s Parivarthana Rally on Sunday as roads witnessed traffic jams for hours and traffic moved at a slow pace.

It was bumper-to-bumper traffic on Jayamahal Main Road from Mekhri Circle to JC Nagar police station and on Nandidurga Road as the traffic police had made parking arrangement for buses that had come from different parts of the state at the Circus Ground and Mavinakayi Mandi.

Besides, traffic was also affected on RT Nagar Main Road from Doordarshan Circle to CIL Road as many vehicles that had come for the event had been parked on the roadside. The traffic police were on their toes clearing traffic and ensuring a smooth flow of vehicles.

An ambulance carrying an emergency patient had to wait for 15 minutes on Palace Road because of heavy traffic. The traffic police made a lot of efforts to clear the way for the ambulance which was heading to Bowring Hospital.

Traffic jam on Bengaluru-Mysuru highway Traffic gridlocks were also on Bengaluru-Mysuru highway as a large number of buses and other vehicles were coming from Chamarajanagar, Mysuru, Mandya and Madikeri districts to Bengaluru. People travelling from Mysuru took over five hours to reach Bengaluru which otherwise takes three-and-a-half hours.
