Agents still tricking Gulf job aspirants
Hyderabad: Agents continue to cheat and fleece Gulf job aspirants and not much is being done to stop this exploitation, according to NRI rights activists.
Majilis Bachao Tehreek leader Amjedullah Khan, who is taking up the cases of Gulf job aspirants, blames the law enforcement agencies for this exploitation.
“A chain of agents cheat Gulf job aspirants and rob them of their dream and money. Police register cheating cases and nab local agents who send the victims on tourist visas to Gulf countries. Yet they still swindle people, especially women,” Khan said.
“The Mumbai agents never get affected. The Indian chain begins from Mumbai and the loop-end agents are based in villages of the state. In most cases, the police catch the small agents while the kingpin goes scot free,” Gulf JAC convener Ravi Goud said.
However, police said that the priority in such cases is to rescue the ‘victims’ stranded in foreign countries.
