ADGP seeks probe into Biju-Sukesan nexus

Biju quotes Sukesan as saying that he was against the government and also more fearful of Jacob Thomas.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Vigilance director Shanker Reddy has recommended a probe into the suspected nexus between Vigilance SP R. Sukesan and bar owner Biju Ramesh.

According to government sources, certain conversations in the CD handed over by Biju Ramesh along with his statement before the magistrate court under CrPC 164 had kicked up the suspicion against Sukesan. The government may order a Crime Branch probe into the matter.

As per the audio conversation, Biju could be heard telling at a meeting of Kerala Bar Hotels Association in Kochi on December 31, 2014 that Sukesan was very friendly with him while recording his statement in the case as they were known to each other for quite some time.

Sukesan even said that he would file a chargesheet in the case against Mr K.M. Mani at any cost. Biju also said that it was as per Sukesan's advice that he stated to the media that bribes were paid to some other ministers too, said sources.

At one point, Biju could be heard telling that Sukesan told him that he could tighten the case against the government if Biju had no political commitments or understandings with other bar association leaders.

Certain conversations of Biju also strengthen the suspicion that his driver Ambili was wrongly framed as a witness.

Biju also quotes Sukesan as saying that he was against the government and also that he was more fearful of Jacob Thomas (then Vigilance ADGP) than the then Vigilance director Vinson M. Paul.
