Minister Dr P Narayana warns road contractors
NELLORE: Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister Dr P. Narayana warned the contractors, who were building roads in Nellore City, that they would take stringent actions against them if they fail to maintain quality in road works.
The minister on Friday inspected the ongoing works at Gurralamadugu Sangam, Aditya Nagar and Jagadish Nagar areas in 16th division of Nellore.
Speaking to the media persons, Mr Narayana asserted that Nellore would be transformed into a cleaner and mosquito-free city once after the finishing of Under Ground Drainage system. “Keeping in view of the damage caused to the roads due to the ongoing UGD and water works, the Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has sanctioned Rs 385 crores additionally for construction of CC roads in the city.
The government has also taken up the construction of 333 feet ghat in Talpagiri Ranganathaswamy temple in the city, besides it was renovating the Koneru (Tank) of Moolastaneswara temple at a cost of Rs 3.50 crore”, he maintained.
Meanwhile, the minister also inaugurated an Anna Canteen in the premises of ACSR vegetable market in the city.
He informed that works of constructing Anna Canteens at mandal level would start from February 18 onwards and Chief Minister has directed the officials to construct 150 Anna Canteens in rural areas.
