Hyderabad: GHMC commissioner M. Dana Kishore on Friday asked officials to take stern action against citizens who damage roads and impose heavy fines on them.
During a surprise inspection at Mehdipatnam, Mr Kishore asked the Metropolitan Water Board to cut the tap connection of those who let out water on to the roads. Mr Kishore noticed that the owner of a multi-storey building was letting tap water on to roads and asked officials to cut the water connection.
He fumed at officials for leaking sewer and unhygienic conditions near the Rythu Bazaar.
He said the sewage was causing severe inconvenience to road users and warned officials of severe action if it was not cleaned up. He asked them provide a permanent solution at the earliest.
