AIR to shut down staff training academy in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The All India Radio’s regional training academy situated opposite to the state Assembly is about to be shut down. Public broadcaster Prasar Bharati is closing down its national channel and regional training academies in five cities in order to cut costs.

The training centre in Hyderabad has four employees. One of the employees said, “We will request the public broadcaster to accommodate us in the AIR. We are yet to receive the order from Delhi. A memorandum to accommodate us in the AIR will be submitted to Prasar Bharati, as this decision has left us stranded.”
