Two Telangana women stranded in Dubai

Two women from the city, who were duped by travel agents, are stuck in Saudi Arabia, their family members alleged.

HYDERABAD: Two women from the city, who were duped by travel agents, are stuck in Saudi Arabia, their family members alleged.

Noor Unnisa Begum and Rehana Unnisa Begum, sisters from Noorinagar in Bandlaguda of the Old City, were assured a job at a beauty parlour in Riyadh.

However, after landing in Riyadh, the women were asked to accompany two different employers who took them to their houses and directed them to work as housemaids.

“Both of my daughters were asked to work as housemaids in different houses in Al Qassim province in Saudi Arabia. When they objected to work as cleaners, they were threatened and told that they had bought them for Rs 3 lakh each,” Ms Afser Begum, mother, said.

She alleged that only two months’ salary had been paid to them since February last year. Ms Afser Begum urged the Indian embassy in Riyadh to rescue her daughters.
