CMO sabotaging case against corporates: PK Krishnadas

\"The High Court will begin hearing on these cases on January 30, but the government is not doing enough preparations,\" he told reporters here.

Kottayam: BJP national executive committee member P.K. Krishnadas on Thursday alleged a conspiracy at the office of the chief minister to sabotage legal proceedings against corporate groups together holding more than 10 lakh acres of plantations.

"The High Court will begin hearing on these cases on January 30, but the government is not doing enough preparations," he told reporters here.

"The government should appoint a high profile civil lawyer for presenting their case. Otherwise, it will be difficult to pursue it later."

He said shuffling of lawyers entrusted to argue the case and the lack of preparations were indicative of the sabotage and that there were moves to shift special officer M.G. Rajamanikkam.

Mr Krishnadas, who was part of a delegation that visited the Kurinji Sanctuary at Kottakamboor near Munnar the other day, said the CPM was trying to legitimise the mafias in the state. He cited Idukki MP Joice George and former minister Thomas Chandy as examples.
