Telangana: 2 student projects make it to Top-15

About 850 projects had been submitted from across the country for the meet.

HYDERABAD: Two projects by students from the state made it to the Top-15 at the National Children’s Science Congress held recently in Maharashtra. About 850 projects had been submitted from across the country for the meet.

West Bengal was the only other state from which two projects were selected.
In all the top-15 projects were shortlisted from 680 best projects that were in fray from other states and few neighbouring countries.

One of the two projects selected from TS was made by G. Manasa and four students from Devnar School of the Blind, Begumpet. They did a project to identify components in an electrical circuit without the touch-and-feel method.
Their guide, Mr R. Parameshwaran, said they used infrared radiation sensors to identify electrical component.

The second project was by D. Saicharitha and other students from Zilla Parishad High School, Peddapalli, Karimnagar district, who made a project on eco-friendly fungal repellant preservative paper.

Mr Y. Nagesh Kumar, member secretary, TS Council of Science and Technology said 13 projects from the state made it to the national fair conducted by the department of science and technology from December 27 to 31.
