Sabarimala: The police have intensified the security measures at Sabarimala in view of the anniversary of the Babri masjid demolition on December 6. More police personnel will be deployed at the temple and there will be air surveillance.The bags and other belongings, including ‘Irumudikettu' of the devotees will be checked thoroughly with the help of outside state police.
The security force comprises one SP, ASP, 16 DySPs, 32 circle inspectors, 110 sub-inspectors, 1,750 police constables and commandos of the Kerala police, 250 commandos of the Rapid Action Force and 90 personnel of the National Disaster Management Authority.“The helicopters of Navy and Air Force will conduct aerial surveillance over sannidhanam,” said Thrissur range IG M.R. Ajithkumar, who is supervising the security measures.
