Kapus plan to intensify agitation
KAKINADA: Kapu leaders have decided to make vigorous campaign for creating awareness among Kapus on Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham’s padayatra and its plan of action in Andhra Pradesh state. The Kapu Joint Action Committee (JAC) have chalked out a plan of action to intensify their agitation to achieve their demand of inclusion of Kapus in BC list by beating meal plates wearing black ribbons on their mouths on December 18, submitting memorandums to all public representatives in their respective constituencies and taking out a candle procession on January 9.
“All JACs in their respective districts will hold meetings in mandals and constituencies,” said Kapu JAC state coordinator Mr V.Y. Das. He said that Kapu JAC state convener Mr Mudragada Padamna-bham would participate at selected places in the agitation programmes. He also said after completing the formation of JACs in mandals and constituencies, village committees would be formed. He said already village committees were being formed in West Godavari district.
“We want Chief Minister Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu to fulfil his election promise. There is no point in agitating against reservations for Kapus by BCs as their BC community leaders such as Mr R. Krishnaiah and present Finance Minister Mr. Yanamala Ramakrishnudu were the members of Telugu Desam manifesto committee and they did not raise any objections for inclusion of Kapus during the preparation of manifesto,” he said.
