Bengaluru: Beda group begins Chuku buku beku campaign
Bengaluru: Members of the Citizens for Bengaluru (CfB), an umbrella organisation which is spearheading the protest against the controversial steel flyover, have started their ‘Chuku Buku Beku’ campaign by reaching out to students. As part of their campaign, the volunteers of CfB visited The National College at Basavanagudi on Saturday.
“We did a student survey on ‘Chuku buku beku’ on commuter train service (local train) at National College, Basavangudi. We were given an opportunity to go to each class room and speak to students. We told the students about the need for public transport to reduce traffic and pollution and specifically local train service that can take advantage of railway lines and stations,” said Mr Srinivas Alavalli, founder-member of CfB.
He said that most of the students take bus and they were quite excited about taking trains when the service is started. The CfB is planning to reach out to all sections of society, including students, in the coming weeks culminating with Chuku Buku Beku Train Yatra, he said.
