Hyderabad: Moulana Hamid Mohammed Khan, president of the Jamat-e-Islami Hind for Telangana state and Odisha, has observed that religious heads and spiritual leaders of different faiths, realising their duty towards the people, have come forward to spread the message of peace and tranquillity.
He said that the Jamat had revived the Dharmik Jan Morcha with new initiatives to provide a platform for religious leaders. This will work in tandem to bring together people of all religion and faiths and foster an environment of communal harmony, unity and peaceful coexistence.
“We have decided to form a ‘Forum for Democracy and Communal Amity’. This forum will consist of scholars, artists, activists and journalists,” he said, while regretting that nowadays, people are exploiting religion for malafide interests.
Swamy Purnand representative of Tridandi Chinna Jeeyar, said all human beings belong to one family. Each should respect the feelings of others. This will help to create a peaceful society. Disharmony in the name of religion will disturb the atmosphere, he said.
