Chaotic traffic in Coonoor town

Coonoor: Cops here need to pull up their socks to manage traffic in Dolphin's Nose and Lamb's Rock tourist spots here, especially during weekends as traffic congestion in the narrow roads lead to both these tourist destinations proving to be agonizing for the hundreds of local families and other plantation workers residing in these areas.

It is a general feeling among residents there that traffic management has turned chaotic over the past few weeks, especially in the Upper Coonoor area from where lot of tourist vehicles commute between Coonoor town and Dolphin's Nose and Lamb's Rock tourist spots.

With the hills witnessing a good surge in tourist influx during the autumn weekends, it appears that cops managing traffic here in Upper Coonoor area have failed to do their homework to evolve traffic management plans.

Sivakumar, a resident here, said that sometimes traffic snarl turns agonizing that even ambulances find it difficult to move. Posting of a couple of cops in the wanton points would solve the problem, he suggested.
