Traffic still chokes Cyber Towers area

The situation is being caused due to the ongoing work on the Metro Rail and road under bridge near Hitec City railway station.

Hyderabad: Commuters in IT corridors will witness heavy traffic at Cyber Towers junction after the inaugural of the skyway at Mindspace junction. The existing 20,000 vehicle per hour traffic volume at Cyber Towers junction is expected to double near Cyberabad Towers once the skyway opens.

The situation is being caused due to the ongoing work on the Metro Rail and road under bridge near Hitec City railway station.

A GHMC official said the flyover at Cyber Towers had reached saturation point within three years of its construction. Commuters were already facing heavy traffic snarls at the Cyber Towers junction. Sources said that though the Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited had provided some relief by diverting traffic to alternative routes, it would not be sufficient.

A senior GHMC official work on the road under bridge at Hitec City station which is likely to be completed by May next year and until then commuters will have to face the inconvenience.
