Special parties of police are combing the forest areas in the districts sharing their borders with Maharashtra.

Adilabad: Adilabad police have set up 12 check posts at various places at the district border to check the illegal transport of liquor and money. In addition they are also keeping a close watch on the movements of Maoists in the area.

Adilabad SP Vishnu S. Warrier held meetings with police officials in Pandarkawada, Chandrapur, and Nanded of Maharashtra and discussed the tightening of police security on the state borders in the wake of elections. The SP said that so far they have seized cash worth '10.27 crore and liquor worth '3.4 lakh during vehicle checks.

Vishnu S. Warrier said that they have booked 249 cases and did 1,100 bindovers to maintain law and order in Adilabad district.
