Hyderabad: The City Police and the Election Squad seized around Rs 15 lakh of unaccounted cash in separate instances on Saturday.
In the first incident, flying squad officials and Uppal police caught Singam Pavani, 25, who was carrying Rs 5,48,500. “She was carrying the amount without any documentation or proof from Uppal to Boduppal in a car and her answers were not satisfactory when questioned about the same,” an official said.
The officials handed her and the seized cash over to the Uppal Municipal Corporation for further action.
In the second incident, on Saturday evening around 4:35 pm, during a vehicle check at Yakutpura Railway Station road, Special Team along with patrol team seized Rs 10 lakh from M. A. Aleem Khan, 61, construction businessman from L.B. Nagar.
He was carrying the said unaccounted cash in his car bearing the number TS 07 FL 6685, said Rein Bazar Inspector P. Anjaneyulu.
