In Mariappana Palya near Ullal, Yeshwantpur MLA Somasekhar requested the Minister to release grants to take up asphalting of roads.

Bengaluru: Following numerous complaints against the deteriorating conditions of Mallathahalli Lake in Yeswantpur, Bengaluru Development minister K.J George instructed the officials concerned to revamp the lake. During an inspection of ongoing infrastructure works in R.R. Nagar, Gandhinagar, Yeswhantpur and BTM Layout constituencies on Thursday, Mr George said that the contaminated lake would be rejuvenated by BDA or the Lake Development Authority officials.

Responding to the residents queries, who alleged that stench from the lake was unbearable, the minister said, “During the BJP government, the 55-acre lake was rejuvenated at the cost of Rs 23 crore. However, due to lack of maintenance, sewage seeps into the lake. The lake does not have a sewage treatment plant and I have instructed the BDA officials to install it.”
