Special darshan for Andhra Pradesh's poor during TTD Brahmotsavams
Tirupati: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) is making arrangements for providing special darshan to devotees from economically weaker sections during the scheduled annual Brahmotsavams at Tirumala from October 7 to October 15.
TTD had, as part of propagating Hindu Sanatana Dharma and putting an end to religious conversions in the state, built 502 Sri Venkateswara temples in all 13 districts of AP at a cost of Rs. 25 crore. Economically poor devotees of these temples are now being provided an opportunity to have darshan of Lord Venkateswara in Tirumala.
The transport department of TTD is arranging 50 buses for 500 devotees from throughout the state, apart from 20 buses from Visakhapatnam and East Godavari districts, to visit Tirumala during the annual Brahmotsavams. These devotees will be provided Srivari Brahmotsava Darshan from October 7 to October 14 and also darshan of Padmavathi Ammavaru in Tiruchanoor.
In a statement, TTD said two members from Samarasata Seva Foundation will accompany each bus to supervise food and shelter requirements of devotees en route to Tirupati. The Samarasata members will organise darshan, food and prasadams for the devotees at Tirumala and Tiruchanoor, apart from taking care of them during their return journey.
Another statement of TTD on Monday reiterated that due to Covid-19 pandemic, only devotees with Slotted Sarva Darshan / Special Entry Darshan tokens and tickets, who possess valid vaccination certificates / Covid negative test reports will be allowed to enter Tirumala. Those without valid certificates or 72-hour-old Covid negative reports shall be stopped at Alipiri checkpoint itself and sent back.
The temple body has appealed to devotees that they come for Srivari Darshan with all preparations
