Telangana to procure 55l MTs of paddy this year
Gangula Kamalakar said the civil supplies department had procured 44 lakh metric tonnes of paddy during the last Kharif season.
Hyderabad: The state government has decided to procure 55 lakh metric tonnes of paddy during the Kharif season, said minister for BC Welfare and Civil Supplies, Gangula Kamalakar, on Thursday. He was addressing a press conference after taking charge of his portfolios at his chambers in the Metro Water Works office at Khairatabad on Thursday.
He said the civil supplies department had procured 44 lakh metric tonnes of paddy during the last Kharif season. Due to state government supplying free 24/7 power supply to farmers, extending financial assistance to farmers through the Rythu Bandhu scheme and also supplying water for irrigation, the government is expecting a record production of paddy this year.
