Mullapally for consensus on Sabari women entry
Thiruvananthapuram: KPCC president Mullapally Ramachandran has asked the LDF government to file a review petition against the Supreme Court's verdict allowing women of all age groups to worship at Sabarimala. He also urged the government to convene an all-party meeting to reach a consensus on the issue.
"Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan need not hurry with the Supreme Court's orders. There are several orders which have not been implemented. Let the government find a consensus first," he told reporters at the Press Club here.
Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala and AICC general secretary Oommen Chandy have already asked the government to file a review petition. Mr Mullapally claimed that with his elevation as KPCC chief, groupism in the party had ended. He also criticised the state CPM leadership for blindly opposing the Congress. If the central CPM leadership can join hands with the Congress, why it is not possible here, he asked.
