Thiruvananthapuram: 6 buses of city school attacked by goons

The police also suspected a conspiracy behind the incident.

Thiruvananthapuram: Anti-social elements attacked six buses of Mount Carmel Residential Higher Secondary School at Kanjiramkulam on the outskirts of the city on Monday night.

They set on fire one bus and damaged five others parked near the swimming pool of the school.

The reason for the attack was yet to be ascertained.

The police took into custody a security guard of the school as not a single image of the attack was recorded on the CCTV camera on the school premises. The police also suspected a conspiracy behind the incident.

Forensic and fingerprint analysts collected evidence from the spot. The police will examine the CCTV footage and carry out further investigation to get more details.

The school announced a holiday on Tuesday following the incident.

The school authorities refused to comment on the incident and said the police were investigating it. The estimated loss was not yet ascertained.

A team of policemen from Kanjiramkulam police station is camping there.

In a similar incident on May 26, the Kazhakuttom police had arrested a person who attacked 14 vehicles, including school buses, parked on the premises of the government school, Kazhakuttom.
