Thiruvananthapura: Photographer Varghese Chacko, who snapped pictures of Sr Abhaya's body, on Tuesday told the CBI Special Court that he had found nail marks on both sides of her neck.
Mr Chacko, who worked in a studio in Kottayam, was assigned by police to take photographs of the corpse recovered from the well of the St Pius X Convent.
He had handed over ten photographs with their negatives to a policeman named Varghese. The six long-shot photos and four closeups went missing from the investigators, he said.
Sisters from the convent had also sought the service of the photographer, creating doubts in the mind of its owner.
It was after the owner's brother called Crime Branch SP K. T. Michael who told him the photos belonged to the police.
A bill to the tune of Rs 200, printed on the letterhead of the studio, was handed over to the Mother Superior of the convent. The convent gave the money, said the witness.
