Kochi: CT simulator joins General Hospital

The CT simulator has been established at a cost of Rs 2.5 crore with the help of Rotary International.

Kochi: Adding to a slew of facilities that the hospitals in the government sector in the state can boast of, a CT simulator that can offer modern imaging facilities and aid in precision radiation treatment for cancer joined the General Hospital, Ernakulam, on Tuesday.

Launching the facility, health minister K.K. Shailaja announced that the government has sanctioned a DNB course in cardiology in the hospital.

The CT simulator has been established at a cost of Rs 2.5 crore with the help of Rotary International. The hospital already has an MRI scan machine and LINAC machine.

She said the multi-specialty wing of the hospital is currently being built at a cost of Rs 76 crore while 25 new posts have been created at the hospital.

Gary Huang, chairman of Rotary International Foundation, who took part in the function, said public health is the most important responsibility for Rotary activities.
