I’m sorry Anna: B Sriramulu

I would celebrate Ganesh Puja with my children, but they did not allow me to do so. I know everything what other leaders talking about me: Sriramulu.

Ballari: Health and Family Welfare Minister B. Sriramulu on Tuesday apologised to senior Congress leader D.K. Shivakumar, who was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in an alleged money laundering case in New Delhi.

Molakalmur MLA Sriramulu, speaking to reporters at Honnur village in his constituency said, his reaction over ED summons to Mr Shivakumar was actually not intended to hurt him.

“I have nothing personal against Shivakumar Anna. What I said is purely a political statement. I fold my hands and beg your pardon in case my words pained you at the when you are facing difficulties,” he said adding that law will take its own course of action. He said, Mr Shivakumar used to taunt him previously on several occasions.

"Therefore, I too spoke in the same tone, but I haven’t spoken anything by heart", he added. Earlier, on Monday, Sriramulu said ' one who ate salt should drink water' while reacting to ED summons to Mr Shivakumar.

The Monday questioning was a sore point — it was Ganesh Chaturthi — and Mr Shivakumar became emotional while talking to reporters in Delhi about it and was tearful recalling Mr Sriramulu’s statement. “I have not been able to perform puja for my father. I would celebrate Ganesh Puja with my children, but they did not allow me to do so. I know everything what other leaders talking about me,” he said.
