Hyderabad: Notifying state on dengue is a tedious job
Hyderabad: With Hyderabad being in the grip of viral fever and dengue, the state government has finally taken stock of the situation and decided to start evening out-patient clinics from 3 pm to 6 pm.
The total number of cases in Fever Hospital in August was 31. Due to this, the OPD will run round the clock there. Health minister Etala Rajender and Congress leader V. Hanumanth Rao visited the Fever Hospital.
The Gandhi Hospital has recorded 150 cases, while the OGH has recorded 96 cases in August. The rush to government hospitals began after private hospitals stopped taking patients as there were no empty beds available.
Private hospitals say that notifying the government is a tedious job as “health officials are not receptive and not willing to take numbers”. There are constant fights with doctors on this issue and there is too much of acrimony. With number of cases very high this year, the doctors have given the notification a miss.
