Road Mishap: Truck rams into bus, 10 injured
Hyderabad: Ten passengers were injured when a truck rammed into an RTC bus on the Srisailam highway in the wee hours of Sunday. Police said the truck driver had got on to the road from a petrol pump on the roadside without seeing the bus.
The RTC bus belonging to Kalwakurthy depot number TS 31Z 0028 with around 38 passengers was heading towards Hyderabad. When the bus reached Imamguda on the Srisailam highway, a truck suddenly entered the main road from a petrol pump and rammed into the RTC bus, police said.
Ten passengers and the truck driver were injured in the accident. Police said the truck driver had parked the truck on the petrol pump premises on Saturday night and had slept. When it was morning, he started the vehicle and came on to the road. Though RTC driver Bala Kistaiah honked, truck driver Ramakrishna did not notice him and came on to the road, police said.
“The bus passengers were given first aid and shifted to another bus and transported to their destination. Ramakrishna who suffered a fracture on the legs is in hospital,” said Pahadis-hareef inspector P. Lakshmikanth Reddy.
After a complaint from the bus driver, police registered a case against the truck driver.
