MET department predicts moderate rain for Andhra Pradesh

The southwest monsoon has been active over coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Visakhapatnam: An upper air cyclonic circulation has formed over northwest Bay of Bengal and it would likely develop into a low pressure area during the next 48 hours.

On the other hand, a trough has been running from Odisha to South Tamil Nadu across coastal Andhra Pradesh. The southwest monsoon has been active over coastal Andhra Pradesh.

The weathermen at the Cyclone Warning Centre, Visakhapatnam informed that moderate rains would continue to lash several pockets of the state in the next 24 to 48 hours.

On Saturday, rains occurred at many places over coastal AP and isolated places over Rayalaseema. Chintur of East Godavari received about 8 cm rainfall.

Kalingapatnam and Ranastalam (Srikakulam), Koyyalagudem, Tanuku and Chintalapudi (West Godavari) and Srikalahasti (Chittoor) got more than 5 cm rainfall on Saturday.

The Met predicted maximum and minimum temperatures to be around 310C and 230C respectively.
