Vellore: Election Commission all set for polls tomorrow

So far about 110 poll related complaints have been received at the control room and the flying squad have registered 71 cases.

Vellore: The Election Commission is all set for conducting the poll on Aug. 5. District Collector and Returning Officer of Vellore A. Shanmugasundaram informed that voting will take place from 7 am to 6.00 pm.

All the 1,553 polling booths will be monitored and all efforts would be taken to ensure free and fair poll. Additional paramilitary forces have been deployed in about 59 places, which have been identified as "sensitive," he said.

So far about 110 poll related complaints have been received at the control room and the flying squad have registered 71 cases. About Rs. 58 lakh have been seized in Ambur while Rs. 55 lakh was seized from Vellore constituency.

August. 5 has been declared as public holiday, Mr. Shanmugasundaram said and appealed to all the voters to exercise their franchise without fail. Votes will be taken up for counting on August. 9.
