Hyderabad: Krishna River Management Board to meet on August 9
Hyderabad: The Krishna River Management Board has called a meeting on August 9 with irrigation officials of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to discuss installing telemetry stations in the second phase in the river basin. The stations will be used to measure how much water each state has used,
The board will discuss allocation of water to the two stat-es in view of the flood inflows into the Srisailam reservoir. The two governments have not paid for installation of the telemetry stations in the current financial year.
Sources said TS irrigation engineer-in-chief C. Muralidhar had asked the board to include in the agenda the matter of release of water to the Nagarjunasagar left canal on priority. He requested the board to incorporate in the agenda the share of Telan-gana state in the water being diverted from the Pattiseema lift irrigation scheme by the AP government and the non-cooperation of the AP government for the Rajilibanda Diversion Scheme modernisation project.
