Bengaluru: The prime accused in IMA Jewels Ponzi scam, Mohammed Mansoor Khan, was handed over to the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Saturday.
Mansoor Khan will be in SIT custody till August 16 as per the orders of City Civil Economic Offences Court Judge Shivashankara B. Amarannavara. The SIT took him into custody after doctors declared him fit. He will be produced before the court on August 16.
Mansoor Khan was in judicial custody after his request for an angiogram and was admitted to Jayadeva Hospital. But the doctors said that there was no need for the procedure and discharged him from the hospital.
The SIT submitted a body warrant to the court and golt his policecustody on Saturday.
IPS officer Hilori grilled again
Mr Ajay Hilori, senior IPS officer serving in the City Armed Reserve (CAR) in Bengaluru, appeared before SIT on Saturday.
The special team grilled him for about three hours and recorded his statements. He is being probed for his role in neutralising the police from investigating the cases against IMA.
