Cyberabad auto to get safety mark
Hyderabad: Following a large number of complaints against autorickshaw drivers of misbehaviour, rash driving, overcharging, dangerous driving and passengers’ belongings going missing, the Cyberabad police will be implementing the ‘My Auto is Safe’ initiative from August 9.
This is meant to protect passengers who travel in autorickshaws. Speaking about the new initiative, Cyberabad DCP, traffic, S.M. Vijay Kumar said, “This is to ensure the safety of women, children and other citizens who travel in autoricshaws in and to improve road safety by giving information of autorickshaw owners and drivers to the passengers as per law.”
He added: “There have been a large number of complaints from autorickshaw passengers. All auto-rickshaw owners and drivers are requested to cooperate with the Cyberabad traffic police and register their vehicles to make Cyberabad a safe city.”
A similar measure has been started in the Hyderabad police commissionerate for the safety of the passengers.
