After 2 years, woman reunited with family

Padma who was abandoned by her husband, went to Shimla in search of him.

Mysuru: Forty year old Mysurean, Padma who had reached Shimla by mistake two years ago and was treated at a hospital there, reached Mysuru Thursday night, and is now relaxing at a state home for women in Mysuru. She was reunited with her mother Parvathamma on Friday.

She had no words to express her joy over the fact that her two year long painful ordeal has ended at last. Padma alias Saraswathi is the daughter of late Krishna Bhovi and Parvathamma, natives of Kampalapura in Periyapatna taluk. She has one younger brother Harish and four sisters Savithri, Janaki, Lakshmi and Saakamma.

Expressing happiness over Padma's arrival, her brother in law Krishna Murthy (husband of Lakshmi) told Deccan Chronicle, "Padma was married to Daranesh, a tailor and a resident of Vaddarahatti in Channarayapatna, Hassan. The couple lived together for 15 years, since they did not have a child, Daranesh had left Padma at her mother's place five years ago. He had told her that he would be going to Bengaluru to join a garment factory and never came back. Padma who was in love with her husband, was depressed and left home in search of her husband several times but she returned each time. But unfortunately two years ago, when her state of depression worsened, she got into a train for Shimla instead of Channarayapatna by mistake," he said.
