Hyderabad: Three people, including the director of New Century Public School, have been taken into custody by the Kukatpally police on Friday, in connection with the slab collapse incident that claimed the lives of two girl students on Thursday.The police had booked a case under section 304 A and 337 of IPC against the management following a complaint from the parents of the deceased children and took custody of the school principal and vice-principal and the director Venkatesh.
Two children, D. Mani Keerthana, 9, and N. Chandana Sri, 8, died on the spot soon after the slab of a dais collapsed while practicing Karate. Six more students Nikita, Naresh, Sahasra, and Sandeep survived injuries, while Naresh’s health condition is said to be still critical.
The bodies of children were handed over to their parents on Friday morning.They staged a protest in front of the school.
