As a big relief to the residents of RK Puram and Devinagar, the Neredmet police on Saturday swung into action and arrested one person from the illegal piggery involved in extracting oil from pig wastes.
Hyderabad: A West Zone Task Force team along with the Mangalhat police arrested a couple from Visakhapatnam that was in possession of 16 kg ganja near Doodhkhana.
The couple was identified as Jagandara Raja Rao alias Prasad, 26, and his wife, J. Laxmi, 23. Mr B. Limba Reddy. DCP, Commissioner’s Task Force, said Raja Rao was an agriculture worker, who noticed people in neighbouring villages growing ganja and selling it at high prices.
“His friend Beemanna, told him to sell ganja in Hyderabad, and gave him the phone number of one Jyothi of Begum Bazaar. The couple came to the city in July and sold 5 kgs of ganja to Jyothi for Rs 3,000 per kg, he said. They brought 16 kg ganja to the city on Thursday to hand over to Jyothi and were arrested.
