Vijayawada: IAS officer's sister missing, cops pick up Bobbili's son
Vijayawada: IAS officer K. Hepsiba Rani’s sister, Dr K. Surya Kumari, 25, has gone missing under suspicious circumstances. Police has taken former TD legislator Bobbili Jayaraj’s son Bobbili Vidyasagar. 35, into custody based on a complaint filed by the missing girl’s parents. Police is going through the call records and WhatsApp conversations as part of their investigations.
Ms Surya Kumari, who works at the Vissannapeta Public Health Centre, had sent Mr Vidyasagar a message asking him to be careful of her parents. That message is at the heart of the suspicions regarding his role in her disappearance.
On Thursday, Mr Vidyasagar’s wife Sushma appeared before the media and said that the police and the girl’s parents were intentionally trying to harass her husband.
She showed reporters records of text conversations that had taken place between her husband and Ms Surya Kumari, in which she had urged him to marry her. She said that Ms Surya Kumari had come to their house on July 31, at night, and tried to convince her husband to marry her. “But my husband refused and sent her back to her home. My husband had an affair with her. But he is not responsible for her going missing,” Ms Sushma said.
She added that despite knowing that they had been married for almost 15 years and that they had two children, Surya Kumari had still wanted to have her husband.
She said that her husband was not responsible for the girl’s disappearance and she urged the police to release him.
