Telangana: Dead bar owner's kin holds protest
Hyderabad: The family of Mahender Singh Pal, the owner of Haiking Bar and Restaurant in Vanasthalipuram who committed suicide two days ago, staged a protest in front of the police station demanding the arrest of those whose harassment forced him to end his life. Police has nabbed the main accused Naveen Goud. Four others are at large.
Mahender Singh Pal alias Bunty hanged himself in the bar on Tuesday. He left a suicide note stating that he was being harassed by five persons who had lent him money. He said Naveen, Sagar, Raju, Rambabu, Raju and Ashok came to the bar on Monday and abused him.
On Wednesday, a video clip was found on his mobile phone, in which he had recorded his suicide statement explaining how they were harassing him for money. Although an abetment to suicide case was registered against the five named in the suicide note by Vanasthalipuram police on Tuesday no arrests were made.
Mahender's family alleged that since the persons responsible for the suicide had close connections with a senior TRS leader, they were avoiding the law.
“They have political support and they are using it to influence the police and delay arrest. We cannot get back our father but we demand justice,” said Mahender's son Ravinder.
Meanwhile, police said that the case was being investigated and teams were working on nabbing the suspects.
“The main accused is in custody. We are searching for the other four. They will soon be arrested and produced in court,” an investigating official said.
