Rasoolpura 2BHK list to be out by August 5
Hyderabad: The double bedroom scheme in the Katta Maisamma Silver Company area in Rasoolpura (that falls in Secunderabad Cantonment limits) is making some families happy while a few others dejected.
Although more than 200 BPL families live in small houses of less than 50 sq.yards each, officials only shortlisted 182 families and gave them position certificates.
Nearly 22 other families have sought their share in this government scheme forcing revenue authorities asking them to give fresh applications.
The revenue officials have received three times the initial number, with joint families with married sons and their children seeking different allotments for siblings.
According to Secunderabad RDO T. Chandralekha, applications are being examined and the complete beneficiaries list will be out by August 5, after which the GHMC will commence construction work.
Since the area is in proximity to the erstwhile Begumpet Airport, authorities cannot go beyond G+3 constructions.
Initially, local representatives tried for G+ 4 constructions of flats in the two acre basti, but due to restrictions the scheme will now be confined only to G+3.
Basti resident K.Ramanjaneyulu stated that they are willing to vacate the premises so that GHMC takes up demolition of the old structures and take up construction of 2-bedroom flats.
“More than 200 families are willing to shift outside for almost 10 to 12 months to pave way for new constructions. Our only appeal to authorities is to ensure all families residing in the basti are included in the beneficiaries list,” he said.Ends/Mahesh Avadhutha/8.34 pm
