Karnataka: Raids continue at night in D K Shivkumar's in-laws' house

Mysuru: Income Tax sleuths, who raided the house of Energy Minister, D K Shivkumar’s father-in-law, Thimmaiah at Ittigegud on Wednesday, reportedly stayed overnight and continued checking documents there on Thursday as well, according to sources.

The family members were not allowed to go out and no outsider was permitted to enter the house. Only the children were allowed to go to school, sources revealed.

On Thursday, the IT sleuths reportedly took Mr Thimmaiah’s son, Sathyanarayan and daughter -in -law to a bank, and got them to bring home the jewellery kept in the locker there. They also checked all the documents related to the jewellery, going by sources.

On Wednesday, Mr Thimmaiah was reportedly taken to the family owned soap nut factory and I-T officials are said to have visited the home of one Edwin, a friend of Mr Sathyanarayan, in Ittigegud to check on more documents.

Meanwhile, Congress workers led by Mysuru DCC president, Dr B J Vijaykumar, staged a protest before the Gandhi statue near the Mysuru law court premises condemning the raids on the house of Mr Shivakumar and his family, and charging the BJP with indulging in hate politics. They blocked the Bengaluru -Mysuru road near the Columbia Asia hospital, obstructing traffic for a while.
