Only 8 IAS officers visit Kaleswaram irrigation project
HYDERABAD: Of the 18 IAS officers deputed, only eight visited Kaleswaram irrigation project on Thursday. The irrigation department arranged a minibus from Haritha Plaza to take the IAS officers to the project site.
Officials at the general administration department said Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao had directed the group of IAS officers would visit on Thursday and a second group on Saturday.
On the directions of Mr Rao the GAD had prepared a list with 21 officers including two IPS officers. The IPS officers were dropped in the revised list. Of the officers who did not make it, principal secretary, finance, K. Rama Krishna Rao, was away in Japan. Finance secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania said that he had visited the site just a fortnight back.
Special Chief Secretary, planning, B.P. Acharya after returning from the project site said, “Very impressive work being done on a gigantic scale. The project is going to be the lifeline of TS. It is a temple of modern Telangana”.
The IAS officers who visited the project on Thursday apart from Mr Acharya were Mr Suresh Chanda (special chief secretary, animal husbandry); Adar Sinha (GAD principal secretary); Ms Y. Srilakshmi (secretary, public enterprises); Mr M. Jagadeeswar (secretary, women and child welfare); Mr C. Parthasarathi (secretary, agriculture); Mr B.M.D. Ekka (secretary, tribal welfare);
Mr Syed Omar Jaleel (secretary, minority welfare), Siddipet collector Venkatram Reddy also visited the site along with officers.
