J&K IAS officer removed after sleaze pictures went viral on social media
Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir government on Friday removed a 2010 batch IAS officer from the post of Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Udhampur district after photographs showing him with two women in an objectionable manner went viral on social media.
The officer has been attached in the office of Divisional Commissioner in winter capital Jammu. “Pending the inquiry into his conduct, Niraj Kumar, IAS (JK 2010), Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, is hereby attached in the office of Divisional Commissioner Jammu,” said an official order.
Arvind Sharma, the additional DC Udhampur, has been asked to look after the work of the DC till further orders.
The photographs reportedly taken during the officer’s brief stay in a hotel room were circulated through WhatsApp on Thursday evening and soon went viral on various social networking platforms including Facebook.
Kumar has not said anything in his defence, so far.
