Hyderabad: NCC to look out for new ground

The NCC Directorate has to either shift to an A1 defence land or to seek state government land.

Hyderabad: The Defence Estates Office has asked the NCC Directorate to look out for an alternative training ground. The Directorate has over 600 cadets, who every year camp at the Bison Polo ground, which will be handed over to the state government.

The NCC Directorate has to either shift to an A1 defence land or to seek state government land. The NCC Directorate comprises the 9 Group headquarters for Telangana and AP; the states have 1.2 lakh cadets.

“The NCC is a Central cum state subject; it is part of the Telangana State Youth Service department. The state must fund 75 per cent of the training expenses, which has not been released so far. It is the responsibility of the state to identify land and provide the same for NCC training,” said a senior officer from the NCC directorate. The Bison Polo ground also hosts Central camps when scheduled in the city.
