Hyderabad: Mahbubnagar superintendent of police Rema Rajeswari initiated disciplinary action on the Midgil sub-inspector saidulu and assistant sub-inspector Jahangir, for beating up a minor in a school on Sunday night.
“Both the officers have been served with a charge memo for beating up the boy. Further inquiry is in process,” she said.
Inquiries revealed that the SI had no connection with the teacher, whose picture the boy clicked while sleeping and sent to the DEO, leading to the suspension of the teacher.
An official said that on Sunday the principal and neighboring residents complained to the police about nuisance in the school campus. When the SI and his team went there to check, they found boys consuming alcohol; they had damaged the tubelights and window panes and were making a loud noise, the official said.
“It was after he was brought to the police station that he was found to be a minor. His appearance did not suggest it, the official said.
The boy claimed that they were consuming soft drinks after having planned Ganesh Chathurthi celebrations. His friends managed to escape, but he was caught.
