SIT speeds up probe in YS Viveka murder case

The watchman Rangaiah was interrogated by the police and they were planning to send him for even lie detection test, awaiting the court’s permission.

KADAPA: Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been speeding up their investigation into former minister Vivekananda Reddy’s murder case. According to the phone call data, the SIT officers have been interrogating each and every suspected person. Since the last two to three days, investigation has been accelerated.

The SIT has filed an application in Pulivendula court to seek permission to send a watchman Rangaiah to Hyderabad for Narco analysis and Polygram tests. If the permission is received from the court, the officers will send him for further tests. On Tuesday, the SIT personnel interrogated a person named Dastagiri, who worked as driver for Viveka’s vehicle three months ago. The police inquired few more persons also. The watchman Rangaiah was interrogated by the police and they were planning to send him for even lie detection test, awaiting the court’s permission.

In total, 23 teams in Pulivendula have been searching for the evidence and interrogating the persons, who were suspected by the call data analysis. Around 10 vehicles, with police stickers, have been surrounding the town since the last few days. Most of the lodges and guest houses were occupied by them. Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, a senior police official said that the investigation has been progressing, according to the call data.

“All the suspected will be interrogated,” he said.

“We are getting information from all sources and analyzing it,” he said.
