Idukki District Congress’ police station march turns violent

Kottayam: The march undertaken by the Idukki District Congress Committee to the Nedumkandom police station on Wednesday demanding a judicial inquiry into the custody death of Rajkumar turned violent. The DCC wanted a probe by keeping aside the Idukki district police chief from his position.
The police blocked the protesters in front of the police station. Three Congress activists were injured when they tried to break the police barricade. Protesting against this, the Congress workers led by DCC president Ibrahim Kutty Kallar marched through Nedumkandom town.
The activists also blocked the Kumily - Munnar road. KPCC vice-president A.K. Mani inaugurated the police station march.
